Carrie
Ann Sterrett is a twenty - eight year - old native of Staunton,
Virginia.
Throughout her life, she has been an avid student of many forms of
art. During her years spent at R.E. Lee High School,
Carrie actively pursued the various arts - related electives
in her course schedule.
Since graduating in 1998, she has
actively continued to study the visual arts on her own time.
Carrie has spent several years at both Bridgewater College and Mary
Baldwin College, and has excelled in a great deal of arts - related
coursework.
Miss Sterrett is the
co-founder of Project Energia Buran, and, in fact, she is the individual
whom
came up
with
our unique name.
Energia is the name of a series of spacecraft
developed over the previous three decades by the former U.S.S.R.
The Buran was a Soviet version of the American Space Shuttle, although
it was much like a large robot in the sense that it was designed to
perform without the need of an on-board human crew whatsoever.
The word Energia means "Energy" in Russian, and the
word Buran roughly translates to "(Snow) Storm". Together they worked
nicely to create a workable abbreviation for our collaboration: PEB!
An accomplished student of a variety of art -
related classes at
both Bridgewater College and Mary Baldwin College, it is Carrie's
personal
philosophy that artistic
endeavors are mostly
a self - taught process, especially in
the fields of human figure drawing and photography.
Through her devotion towards the mission of
PEB, and
additionally upon
an entirely personal level, Miss Sterrett hopes
to elevate artistic awareness within Augusta County and the surrounding
areas.
Inspiration
for Miss Sterrett’s work
comes from a great
many sources including, but not limited to:
nature
politics
popular
culture
emotion
literature
the theater,
television, and the cinema
Her
mantra is quality over quantity, and one can be most certain that
she
has put the
utmost
thought and effort into all of her paintings and photography.
Should you desire a print of any existing
work, or
if you would wish to
commission Miss Sterrett, an in - depth artist's explanation
accompanies any
such piece. Carrie's primary mediums are acrylic on
canvas,
traditional watercolor, and ink on paper.
Beyond visual media, Miss Sterrett is skilled
in in
literature.
While attending Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton, she and a friend
self-published their own
newsletter which
covered issues relating to the cinema, popular music, and television
reviews. During the two years of issues, it was regarded more
favorably by fellow
students than was the
school-funded student newspaper.

Additionally, Carrie Ann invites you to explore the
other web portals which she maintains:
Her personal Myspace Page, Facebook Page, and a long - running livejournal Account
each offer unique and extensive opportunities to enjoy her style of
blogging and up - to - the - minute political commentary.*
